Adding Y! smiley to your blogspot posts and comments

Finally I got myself a JavaScript too add smiley feature to this blog :D (see what I mean?)

I envy worpress (TM) for its (embedded) smiley feature. So I tried to browse for some scripts to replace all smiley codes into image smiley/emoticon. I did easily find some but most of them are placed in free script-hosting server. Obiviously free servers will go down if too many people use scripts from there :p

So, I decide to get some scripts from some sites :

http://scrapur.com/index/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/smile.js (add smiley feature to posts)

http://bloggerstop.net/ (add smiley feature to comments)

I put their code together and put them in pakarsindonesia.com server (so if you use my code, please also put links to pakarsindonesia.com :) ). I put my script here : http://pakarsindonesia.com/wp-includes/js/smiley.js

Wanna some in your own blogspot's blog? follow this steps B-)

1. Enter your blogspot dashboard and go to Layout > Edit HTML. Check Expand Widget Templates

2. Copy all codes of your blog and paste it in notepad or any other text editor

3. Find this line of code: </body>

4. Then paste this line of code above it to replace all smiley code in your blog's posts and comments:

<script language='javascript' src='http://pakarsindonesia.com/wp-includes/js/smiley.js'/>

5. Find this line of code:

<b:include data='post' name='comment-form'/>

6. Then paste these bunch line of codes above it to show smiley list that can be used above comment form:



7. Copy and paste (replace) your edited blog's codes back to Edit HTML in blogspot

8. Save!
